Green Brushed Ikat

Not just another run-of-the-mill plaid, the Green Brushed Ikat references the stylistic hand of an Ikat Madras with the heft of a Cambridge Oxford cloth. Hand-loomed at their partner mill in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, this fabric utilizes dip-dyed yarns to create its distinct Ikat motif. For those unfamiliar, Ikat fabrics are characterized by yarns that change color throughout the weave. To achieve this, the yarns themselves must be systematically dyed at precise intervals before weaving and placed perfectly within the weave itself. If that sounds difficult to pull off, well, that’s because it is.
