Collection: Carter Young
Founded in New York City, by way of Detroit, Carter Young's inspirations are tied to the heartland, drawing from the American cultural canon—Easy Rider, William Eggleston, Coca-Cola—the backdrop of American life that exists between the coasts.
Each collection begins with an intensive research process spanning film, literature, ephemera, and music. Sometimes a song, photo, or painting becomes the keystone for a capsule, informing fabrics, colors, textures, and visuals.
Carter Young's pieces are not precious and are made to be worn. Their core ranges are mainly cut from natural fibers, with many featuring vintage washes for a pre-broken-in feel. Whenever possible, they employ responsible production methods, from small-scale runs to using dead-stock materials left over from other companies' excess.
